I'm trying to find out what the value of a Bronze Angel statue is?

This Angel has been in our family for over 50yrs and I'm trying to find out what the value of this angel is. This angel stands 21 1/2 inches tall and this angel is all bronze with a marble base.Thank You for your help.

Regardless of the materials used in creating sculptures, this ancient art form continues to inspire both the artist and the observer.

I can think of two examples:
One seems to be 3x5 oval top unmarked white marble with
bronze disk at upper center. If coin size metal is thumbed aside on its hidden pivot one peers down bored hole to gaze upon painted porcelain miniature. Shows young boy wearing
buckskin clothing standing outside low narrow log cabin with sod roof. No name or date is evident.
Second is a square block of black granite containing twelve
names and the mine they last worked after a deep collapse prevented their recovery for seperate burials.

I love walking in graveyards and checking out the markers.
i am in Hungary right now and sometimes go to the graveyard to visit my husbands mom and dad.
There are some very old and Gothic graves here, they are so interesting.
there is one grave in a small village we were visiting that drew my attention.It was of a small girl who died around age 6 or so. She died in the 1930's. her parents had a beautiful statue of her playing with her dog. it made me cry so I bought her some flowers. Her dad was a doctor so makes me wonder what she died of.
There is another marker on the side of the road on our way to one of the lakes here. It is a huge guitar, the guy must of been a rocker.
Other graves are covered in moss and falling apart, those ones are a bit scary.

But Allah caused him to die for a hundred years, then raised him up (again). He said: "How long didst thou tarry (thus)?" He said: "(Perhaps) a day or part of a day." He said: "Nay, thou hast tarried thus a hundred years; but look at thy food and thy drink; they show no signs of age: and look at thy donkey; and that We may make of thee a Sign unto the people, look further at the bones, how We bring them together and clothe them with flesh!" When this was shown clearly to him, he said: "I know that Allah hath power over all things."

2-a) Bone formation in the fetus in the Bible:

In the Bible

Ecclesiastes 11:5

As you do not know what is the way of the wind, Or how the bones grow in the womb of her who is with child, So you do not know the works of God who makes everything.

2-b) Bone formation in the fetus in the Quran:

Surah 23: 14

Then We made the sperm into a clot of congealed blood; then of that clot We made a (fetus) lump; then We made out of that lump bones and clothed the bones with flesh; then We developed out of it another creature. So blessed be Allah, the Best to create!

The embryo is a boneless lump. Its cartilage tissue is transformed into bones in due time, as stated in the Quran, followed by their being clothed in muscular flesh. This process was unknown 1400 years ago. It was believed that the bones and muscles developed simultaneously. Sophisticated microscopes and micro cameras introduced into the uterus corroborated once again the truth expressed in this verse.

(Surah 36: 79) Say, "He will give them life Who created them for the first time! for He is well-versed in every kind of creation!

(Surah 37: 16) "What! when we die, and become dust and bones, shall we (then) be raised up (again)?

(Surah 37: 53) "`When we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed receive rewards and punishments?'"

(Surah 56: 47) And they used to say, "What! when we die and become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be raised up again?

(Surah 75: 3) Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones?

(Surah 79: 10) They say (now): "What! Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state?

(Surah 79: 11) "What! When we shall Have become rotten bones?"

(Surah 79: 12) They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!"

Then, take care of that day hoping that your return in the afterlife is not a loss.

Opaline glass

Opaline glass is a decorative style of glass made in France from 1800 to the 1890s, though it reached its peak of popularity during the reign of Napoleon III in the 1850s and 1860s. The glass is opaque or slightly translucent, and can appear either white or brightly colored in shades of green, blue, pink, black, lavender and yellow. The glass has a high lead content which defined it as "demi-crystal" or semi-crystal. The primary influences on this style of glass were 16th century Venetian milk glass, and English white glass produced in 18th century Bristol.

Many different pieces were produced in opaline glass, including vases, bowls, cups, coupes, decanters, perfume bottles, boxes, clocks and other implements. The popularity of Opaline glass began during the reign of Napoleon. Cities involved in the production included Le Creusot, Baccarat, and Saint-Louis, Runion, as well as various locations in England.

All opaline glass is hand-blown and has a rough or polished pontil on the bottom. There are no seams and no machine engraving. Many pieces of opaline glass are decorated with gilding. Some with handpainted flowers or birds. Several have bronze ormolu mounts, rims, hinges or holders. Real opaline glass was produced only in France. In the 1900s Italy produced a similar glass and called it opaline veritable.

Most all opaline glass is not branded or signed.

Portieux Vallerysthal made lots of robin's egg blue glass they call Opaline. This was produced later and in much greater quantity and is not nearly as rare or valuable.

The two best references for French Opaline Glass are Les Opalines by Christine Vincendeau and Lpaline franaise au XIXe sicle by Yolande Amic. Both are in French.
