With respect to the position of the moon - What are the " o'clock " positions and how do you know?
i have read some material about the position of the full/new/waxing/waning moon online and the "o'clock" positions of the moon in the sky with regard to the suitablility of fishing.
I have no idea about the "o'clock" positions or how i would be able to tell them apart. is there some sort of graph/table that you could me guide to? (please dont tell me it has anything to do with the actual time of day LoL)
As a private pilot, I often hear e.g. "You have south going traffic, two thousand feet, at your five o'clock."
The "o'clock" notation is always relative to a heading or bearing. According to the context of what you read, you should then know if it is the bearing of the moon or the heading in which you fish. In any case, the "o'clock" notation is then 3 o'clock, on your right hand side, and 9 o'clock on your left hand side.
