Grandmother Wall
Trying to find painting showing a woman & her child being lowered from a foundering ship into a lifeboat?

This painting was on the living room wall at my grandmothers' house and it scared me as a five year old (just like my grandmother did). It shows a woman holding her child and they are being transferred via a rope into a lifeboat below. They are halfway between the ship and lifeboat and they are in tremendous peril. The painting is darkish and the seas are rough. The ship is a steamer and I'm guessing the era is early 1900's. The life boat has men manning the oars and others holding the lifeline and reaching out for the mother and child. There are people at the rail of the ship and some are helping with the transfer and some are watching. The painting is cropped so only the side of the ship is seen, fairly close up. Close enough so you can see the expressions on the faces of the people involved. Size of the painting roughly 36"w x 24"h. Painting is not a Zichy or a Claxton. Thnks & rgds.

Sounds to me like the cover art for the original book "The Lusitania". I can't seem to find it on Google images. I saw a lot of more modern images on later editions and other stories about it but I remember that on the cover of the copy my mother had- it had something very similar to what you described.

This ship ( The Lusitania) was sunk in 1915 by German U-boat killing nearly everyone on board (about 1200 people). It was a big part of what brought the US into the war and was probably painted many times by many artists during that era.

If it was an original work then that painting might have been the only copy. There are sure to have been others though that painted the same subject. Good luck!

Most famous paintings on the subject was by Norman Wilkinson; Here is an etching of his painting:

Stone Houses in Kathikas - If Only These Walls Could Talk

Kathikas in my opinion is arguably the prettiest and friendliest village in the Paphos area. Since settling in Paphos it has pleased me to learn that the local people in this village and many of the smaller villages in the area are now being encouraged, by way of grant, to renovate and retain their traditional homes.

Kathikas village is approximately a 15-20 minute drive northeast of Paphos and the scenery along the way is a delight as you climb into the hills. The village is surrounded by grapevines, of which, many have been handed down through the family generations. Many of the villages work in the wine growing industry supporting the growth of the two local, family owned wineries, namely Sterna and Vasillikon.

The purpose of my trip on this particular day was to visit Kathikas and see for myself one of the village's newly renovated traditional stone houses. What I saw and the story I was told blew me away.

This Kathiskas stone villa has been renovated to an extremely high standard without losing any of the old charm and traditional aspects of the original building. The owner has been able to enrich his family property and was justifiably proud to share with me the Kathikas village traditions and a little of his family history.

Traditionally, the old stone houses were built on one level and would have housed not only the family but their livestock as well. The property would have been sectioned off into smaller square rooms for the family and to one side they would house the family donkey and maybe a cow. Today this traditional stone house has been opened up to expose arched doorways and wooden beams.

The ceiling has been finished in bamboo, a tradition that has mainly gone beside the way. The young owner advised me that every village had a different style of finish within their houses and to make sure he retained the traditional of his village he enlisted one of the Kathikas village elders to show him the methods they used to create the bamboo finish. Having picked up the tips and tricks from this older gentleman, he then recruited volunteers from within the local school to help him put it all together. The result is astonishing.

Other than the structural renovation the stone villa has been furnished in keeping with the era. There is a replica high raised iron bed, the traditional Cypriot bread paddle, rustic furniture, and assorted pottery. The owner explains to us that his grandmother produced 11 children in this house which has been passed down through the family to him. In his grandmothers lifetime no houses had water on mains and it was therefore collected in jugs from a well near to the village church. The jugs and the storage areas are visible throughout the villa.

This Kathikas stone villa now offers all the comforts of today's lifestyle. Standing in its own private courtyard, this Paphos holiday villa is complimented by a relaxing pool area, outdoor pergola with BBQ, fine landscaping and even a private well.

I thanked my friend for sharing some history and culture with me and it was easy to see how proud he was of this achievement, and well he should be. By giving the holiday maker the opportunity to also experience and share a little of his background, he is not only preserving the family home but creating an income for his family and ensuring the nature of the village itself does not get spoilt. By encouraging select new developments and renovations the locals themselves can contribute to improving and boosting the area based simply on its traditional character and nature.

The village itself retains a very traditional and friendly atmosphere and is an ideal location for walking, bird watching, wine tasting, meeting the locals or simply total relaxation. A visitor's centre is available for maps and additional information on the surrounding area. The village also boasts small supermarkets, cafes and some very select tavernas and restaurants, enough to provide for residents and visitors alike.

How to Choose A Grandfather Clock?

What should I consider when choosing grandfather clocks?

Although Ava above makes some good points, the number one consideration is how you want it to operate. At the heart of every floor clock is the movement. It controls the hour strike, time keeping and the chime. The pendulum and weights are critical components to the operation of the clock movement.

The question becomes how you want the clock configured based on your knowledge of yourself. Will you remember to pull the chains every 7 days? Do you want a cable with pulley system or a chain driven system. Do you want an automatic nightime chime shut off? Do you want more than one chime selection? What extra features would you like, illuminated face or moon dial as examples?

glass in the washing machine?

if you put a rug in the washing machine to wash it (obviously) what do you do if there's broken glass on it?
i have a severely stained rug that i really NEED to wash, nut i had broken a jar on it this morning, and now there's glass all over it!! what should i do: should i wash it anyways or throw it away? will the little glass fragments ruin my washing machine? i've already tried to vacuum up the glass, and i got most of if, but i'm afraid that there might be little pieces that i can't see.... so you tell me, should i risk it???

please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!

The little pieces wont hurt your washing machine any more than a grain of sand hurts your washing machine. Look inside the machine. See the holes? As long as it is smaller than the holes it should be fine. I think if you vacuumed it and dont see any large fragments, it will be fine.

Are Reading Glasses Optional?

Studies have shown that 10% of women above the age of 40 wear reading glasses. If you have some sort of prescription glasses or contact lenses, then you might be on the way to wearing bifocals in the future. If you hold your food products at an arm's length at the supermarket to read the price or the labels, you probably need reading glasses.

With age, the fibers of the eye lens get denser and less flexible. Therefore the lens cannot adjust to focus on nearby objects. This age-related condition is not a disease and is called presbyopia or "old eye." This condition is noticed at the age of 40 to 45 and continues for another 15 to 20 years, after which it stabilizes. Therefore corrective measures such as bifocals or reading glasses become necessary.

If you are mostly in an outdoor environment you can use reading glasses in the form of sunglasses. If you are exposed to a lot of reflection, polarized reading glasses are also available.

You can avoid reading glasses or delay the onset of age related-eye conditions by maintaining a proper diet, healthy eye care and by doing the right eye exercise.

Some eye diseases do not cause any pain and do not have any symptoms for many years. A qualified optometrist will be able to detect any problems with the cornea or the lens by carefully examining them under certain optometric machines. Early detection can prevent irreparable damage.

Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration and Cataracts are eye conditions that develop with age and result in visual impairment or blindness. In Glaucoma the optic nerve is damaged whereas in macular degeneration the retina gets affected. Cataracts affect the crystalline lens. Although glaucoma and macular degeneration almost certainly lead to blindness, cataracts can be removed by surgery.

Here are a few tips to keep your eyes in good condition and avoid reading glasses:

• Include sufficient amounts of yellow-orange foods such as cantaloupes, carrots and yams. These fruits contain Vitamin A, Vitamin C and Vitamin E. Selenium and zinc are some minerals that are important for healthy eyes.

• The muscles of the eyes must be well exercised in order to keep them healthy. A vision therapist will be able to recommend proper exercises for your eye condition.

• Palming keeps eyes from getting strained and helps soothe tired eyes. You can do this by rubbing your hands together till warm and cupping your eyes with them.

• Tea bags placed on your eyes after a tired day's work can relieve them of tiredness.

• If you work for eight hours in front of a computer, it is a good idea to shift your gaze from the screen and focus at an object placed at a distance of eight to nine feet away. Do this every 15 minutes. This will keep your eyes in focus and give your eyes the necessary breaks.

Many people have to resort to reading glasses earlier as they take their eyes for granted. Your eyes are your windows to the world, and therefore treat them with care.

However, all said and done, if you do use reading glasses, you can choose from a plethora of designer reading glasses.

Is there a good french equivalent of our online National travel timetable for trains thats easy to use?

I want to know how to get around Brittany and eastwards towards Angers by bus or preferably train

You can download the timetables as PDF files: http://www.voyages-sncf.com/leisure/fr/launch/train_services/

1) Under Services voyages-sncf.com, click on " Fiche horaire personnalisée"

2) Then enter the info you want:
- departure town
- destination
- number of transfers
- dates from ... to...
- time from ... to... (use 24-hour clock)
- check the days of the week

3) click on "Télécharger votre horaire personnalisé" to download the timetable you want.

That's for trains. Buses only operate locally, not over long distances. You would get the bus timetables from your local tourist office in Brittany.

French Property Trends for 2009

According to Brice Bonato, Managing Director of Sextant French Property Agents, the French property market looks set for an interesting 2009, due to a mixture of further price reductions, cut in interest rates and a good deal of properties on offers, both in resale and new build in France markets.

Although most of the people here in the UK looking to purchase a property in France seem to be “waiting to see what will happen”, especially with the current state of the Sterling, others are actively looking and negotiating very good deals. In fact, some have realised that given the combination of price reductions and lower offers being accepted, prices of most properties on the French market have remained stable in sterling terms - the 25% fall in the pound's value that occurred over the past year has put many potential purchasers off; which is easily understandable.

Indeed, the current situation favours purchasers rather than vendors, and most are accepting offers that would have seemed comical just a few months ago. Everybody is in agreement that the first six months of 2009 should remain a buyer’s market and as such be an excellent time to buy a property in France. Then it would not be surprising to see prices go up again, and then, as a consequence, the return of mass purchasers; the best deals will be gone by then as vendors won’t be in a position where they have to agree to low offers.

In the Cotes d’Armor department of Brittany, which has always been the most popular market with British expatriates, not only for its historical connection with the British isles, but also because of its long-established transport links with the UK, the average cost for a house is now 161 540 €; even though Brits purchased less properties in this corner of France over the last year than previously due to the economic downturn, they still represented 25% of buyers in the first part of 2008. Areas further afield like Loudeac or Carhaix Plouguer remain favourites as prices are considerably cheaper than resorts closer to the sea like Saint Malo for example; it is not unusual to see habitable properties go under 50,000€ in traditional little villages such as these.

In the Dordogne, also a popular destination for property hunters from the UK, the average cost for a house is now 150 100 €; the credit crisis is now having a dramatic impact on the prices of properties that have, in the past, been popular with British buyers, especially the higher value and stone houses properties that are at reduced prices as owners are conveying a willingness to accept much lower offers. In the North of the department, in hamlets like Nontron or small villages such as La Coquille, prices remain really cheaper than the area surrounding Bergerac (where one would find the international airport) and guaranteed bargains are to be made by people with a good knowledge of the market.

In the Limousin, which remains the cheapest place in France for someone looking to purchase a property, the average cost for a house is now 92 200 €; the Creuse department remains the cheapest of all with a 2-bedroom house costing an average 68 600 €. Prices are expected to drop a further 5% to 10% in the course of 2009, but nobody really expects it to go below this as prices are already very low. On top of that, the opening of the new airport in Brive la Gaillarde (expected soon) should see prices in the Correze department increase, especially in the villages that could be reached in less than 1 hour from the international airport.

In the Languedoc region, the favourite place for brits looking for the sun, alongside the French food, wine and way of living, the average cost of a house is now 209 500 €; the Aude department, popular with people looking around Carcassonne and Perpignan, or generally close to the sea, remains the cheapest with a 2-bedroom house costing an average 157 900 € - the Gard and Herault departments, most popular with people looking for a Provence-style move, are very close in prices, with the average cost for a house being respectively 231,500 € and 232 000 € - prices in this region are expected to drop a further 5% to 10% over the next year but most properties are having their prices reduced and owners seem content to accept much lower offers in this corner of France also.

Finally, in the Normandy region, also a traditional destination for property hunters from the UK due to the proximity to England, the average cost for a house is now 156 800 €; prices have decreased during 2008 and are expected to stabilize next year.

As a conclusion, the uncertainty in Britain in particular and in the world in general may encourage people to buy in France. Indeed, compared with the other overseas markets, France offers a very protective purchasing system and low capital gain tax, and is a long standing tried and tested market without the various risks that some of the emerging markets offer. And, in today’s current climate, safety is priceless.

In Eclipse by Stephenie meyer, does Bella ever tell Edward she knows that her heat charm on her braclet is a dimond? Does the book ever talk about the charm after Jake tells her "A Rock, that figures." ?

No - she doesn't talk to Edward about it, and I don't think she's 100% sure of it. It's suggested to her, but, she didn't want anything expensive, so I think, in a way, she doesn't allow herself to believe it, even though she is perceptive and probably knows it deep down. She really can't imagine owning a 5 carat diamond. It's just not the kind of thing she does (owning expensive things.) The diamond isn't mentioned after that, either.

Edward just has to figure out a way to shower her with nice things doesn't he? "Hand-me-downs." Kind of funny. Gotta love Edward.

Searching for Edward Cullen? Why Women Drool Over Vampires

Everyone from teenaged girls to single women to suburban mommies to grandmothers are going crazy over Edward Cullen, the drool-worthy vampire in the wildly popular new Twilight movie.

Why are women everywhere lusting over Hollywood's latest bloodsucker? It isn't just the fact that the vampire Edward Cullen is played by the uber-yummy Robert Pattinson although that helps.) Twilight author Stephenie Meyer has created the perfect man in Edward: Smart, funny, handsome, and utterly possessed by the girl he loves.

Bring On the Bad Boy Vampires.

Edward isn't our first vampire to turn our heads, and he certainly won't be the last. Who can forget Bill from HBO's popular First Blood, Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and of course, the vampire Lestat from Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles.

What's so appealing about vampires?

Lit and Hollywood vampires have a stunning appeal to our most basic instincts: They are powerful, they are always devastatingly handsome, and they are more than a little bit dangerous. Vampires are the ultimate bad boys: They are self-assured, inherently sensual and hold the promise of eternal youth. And, um, there's always the possibility they might bite you in bed.

Not only that, falling for a vampire is the ultimate high stakes love affair -- if you win his love, it will be forever. (Although, if you don't, you'll probably wind up as his dinner.)

In the case of Edward Cullen, there's something so devastatingly tempting about a man who is so self-sacrificing - so in love with us that he is willing to deny the most basic part of himself just to be with us. He'll endure the greatest pain and sacrifice he's ever known to love us, protect us, save us from the bad guy.

SWF Seeks Vampire.

This is the very reason why we find vampire characters so appealing - they illustrate what we want for ourselves: passionate, once-in-a-lifetime, undying love. Someone who would do anything to be with us. Someone who would protect us from those who might harm us. Someone who's willing to commit to forever.

But all of those appealing traits come in a very dark package. Our minds know this, but sometimes the appeal of the bad boy, (vampire or otherwise,) is pretty difficult for our hearts to resist.

Why would any woman be willing to risk so much?

Certainly there are some women who like the curl-your-toes challenge of trying to get a leopard to change his spots. But most women who are attracted to such bad boys are suffering from low self-esteem. The only way you feel worthy of love is if some man deems you so worthy he's willing to go to extraordinary lengths to win you. You're looking for someone who sees something in you that you can't see for yourself.

The problem with this is that dating a high-stakes guy means the odds are a lot higher that you're going to lose. So, instead of finding that amazing guy who finally makes you feel like you're worth everything, you're way more likely to end up as roadkill - your heart broken by yet another man to reinforce what you already believe - that you aren't worth it after all.

And there's nothing more tragic than that. Because as steamy as Edward and his brethren might be, the truth is, we never find true love until we know we deserve it.

You deserve it.

Dated Grandfather

Dated Grandfather
Dated Grandfather
is it wrong to date someone who is the son of my grandfather's first cousin ?

I have been speaking to my cousin and i believe that he has a crush on me. I just want to know exactly how close this cousin would be to me genetically?

This young man and one of your parents are second cousins, since children of first cousins are second cousins.

You, in turn, are his second cousin once removed through your mother or father.

Before 1865 or so it was quite common for cousins to marry. Many of my Pennsylvania Dutch ancestors and my ancestors who lived in what is now West Virginia did it.

Unless hemophilia or another genetic condition runs in your family, you should be good to go.

As to how close;
siblings share 100% of DNA
1st cousins share 50%
2nd share 25%
you and he would share 12.5% of the DNA, by my calculation, although he shares 25% with your mom or dad.

What Homes Are Eligible For Grandfathering?

A home can qualify for grandfathering two ways. If the homeowner has carried continuous flood insurance on their home while the area that they live was rated as a low risk and the area is changed to a high risk flood zone, the policy will remain on what is called a preferred policy. They would be given a lower premium than others that purchase a policy after the area has been changed to high risk. The other form of grandfathering is to be grandfathered for built in compliance. If the date that the home had its last substantial improvement was while there was a flood map in place that rated the area that they live as low risk and the area rating was changed to high risk then you will eligible to be grandfathered into a regular policy. This would potentially save hundreds of dollars per year on your flood insurance.

It is important that consumers work with an experienced agent to ensure that their policy is properly rated and that they are receiving the premium that your home qualifies for. If a home is currently located in a high risk flood area then having an experienced agent could also simplify the process of a flood insurance purchase.

Although flood insurance if federally controlled and all NFIP flood insurance policies offer the same rates, consumers may want to call a few agents prior to purchasing a flood insurance policy. Not all agents are familiar with the process of qualifying a home for grandfathering for being built in compliance. If the home is located in a high risk flood zone consumers will see a significant difference in the quotes that they receive based upon the way that the policy is rated.

California Realtor

California Real Estate Agent John-Robin Middlebrook Sells real estate online in less than 4 months.
Though real estate has been around forever, I can remember when "Netscape" became the official web browser and "Yahoo" email was just a thought of the imagination. I was a freshman and first teaching web design at the University of Southern California at the time. Back then, the Internet was born and I was there to watch it unfold from the beginning at a high tech academic institution. We used telnet to open our emails and C, the most rudimentary computer language, was the computer language of choice for computers at that time. Today, more than twelve years later, as a real estate and Internet specialist I provide world-class realty services to help real estate agents, sellers and buyers across the nation sell their California home sales, California land sales, and California commercial property lease and sales faster than ever before! I have never had an expired listing and all my listings have sold from as little as 1 day to less than 4 months.

My California real estate agent sales experience includes a solid background of "A" quality companies including Keller Williams Realty in California (I have worked for several franchises), Century 21 Beachside CA, and Remax International. All of these brokerages have achieved superior recognition for being the highest grossing real estate sales companies in the world. Also my latest franchise, Keller Williams Realty, was voted the 66th company of the top 500 franchises by Entrepreneur Magazine (Remax is listed 8th). I also have a network of real estate agent connections from Prudential, Coldwell Banker, ERA, and Realty Executives. My territories include: Imperial County, Kern County, Los Angeles, Orange County, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Ventura and beyond. Please contact me today to get started.

California Real Estate Agency Experience
Keller Williams Realty in California and I crossed paths in December of 2005. My first experience toward becoming a California Keller Williams real estate agent was in Los Alamitos, Orange County, Southern California. I have enjoyed being a Christian realtor since 2002 and I look forward to working with other sellers, buyers, and realtors of all beliefs outside of California. Actually, the first day I was introduced to Keller Williams Realty I signed in Norwalk, Los Angeles County, Cal. When I sell a California home I go all out and I closed one deal on a Whittier home in that agency in the second month while my first broker at Keller Williams in Norwalk chose to relocate his agency to a bigger office location in Santa Fe Springs next to La Mirada, close to Biola University, California. Shortly thereafter I made a move to become one of the Keller Williams Long Beach agents in Bixby Knolls. Once at the Keller Williams Long Beach CA office I managed to have one family set up to relocate out of a beach vacation home in Miami Florida with the help of a great Keller Williams Florida referral agent. Then I made a move to the Keller Williams Realty Long Beach Coastal office closer to the beach right across the street from where I was first introduced to California real estate sales at the Century 21 Beachside office in Naples in 2002 and I opened escrow on a new deal at the Keller Williams Long Beach Coastal office on the second day.

I have had encounters with agents from the Keller Williams Realty franchise in Los Angeles, Huntington Beach, Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, Cerritos, Norwalk, La Mirada, Long Beach, Seal Beach/Los Alamitos, Whittier, Orange, Anaheim, City of Industry, Brea, La Habra, Al Hambra, Monterey Park, Santa Monica, Newport Beach, Laguna Hills, San Clemente, Mission Viejo, Santa Ana, Stanton, Westminster, Cypress, La Palma, Pasadena, Lancaster and Kern County, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego and Ventura County. These are the cities for Keller Williams real estate Southern California close to my area: Beverly Hills, Cerritos, Downey, Glendale, Hermosa Beach, Lakewood, Hollywood, Brentwood, La Mirada, Los Angeles, Westside Los Angeles, Los Feliz, Marina del Rey, Northridge-, Norwalk, Antelope Valley, Palmdale, Pasadena, Palos Verdes, Keller Williams Realty Redondo Beach, Santa Fe Springs, Santa Moni, Studio City, Torrance, Santa Clarita, Valencia, Woodland Hills, Huntington Beach, Irvine, Los Alamitos, Mission Viejo, San Clemente, Chino Hills, Corona, Norco, Rancho Cu monga, Redlands, Riverside, Temecula, rlsbad, San Diego, Escondido, La Mesa, Santa Maria, marillo, Simi Valley and Keller Williams Realty Thousand Oaks California, CA.

Former Agencies: Remax and Century 21 in California
As a California realtor working for Remax I helped a family relocate from California to Arizona. They moved from Garden Grove in Orange County California to Mesa Arizona. For that property I received the highest sales price in the city of Garden Grove within a 4 mile radius for 6 months for a 3 bedroom 2 bath house in 2003, during a seller's market! I also sold the home next door as a Remax relocation realtor in Southern California at the time. My first California real estate referral was with a Remax realtor from Texas. I also did a California relocation referral with a Remax real estate agent in Atlanta Georgia and one with a Remax agent in Delta Colorado. Before I started at Keller Williams or Remax I started selling real estate in Southern California at Century 21 Beachside with offices in Brea, Chino Hills, Fountain Valley, Huntington Beach, Laguna Niguel, Long Beach (Naples), Mission Viejo, Rancho Cucamonga, Upland, and Whittier.

I look forward to opening my own California real estate brokerage in the future.

How to Identify the Different Varieties of Wood Grain Wall Paneling

In all my years of working as an interior decorator, I have never come across a subject that is so misunderstood as Wood Grain Wall Paneling. I’m here to set the record straight on this type of wall paneling. I will do my best to describe to you what is available in wood grain wall paneling. So join me as I walk you through what is being offered in the world of wood grain wall paneling. You will find out that you have a good variety of styles to choose from. After having given it some time and thought, I have put together some short definitions of the different types of wood grain wall paneling available today. This isn’t your grandfather’s wall paneling.

Okay, so let’s take a look at wood grain wall paneling. This is the type of paneling most people think of when the subject of wall paneling comes up. Wood grain paneling comes in a variety of colors and planking widths. Your wood grain choices are Beaded Birch, Frosted Maple, Beaded White, Honey Birch, Lite Birch, Westminster White, Provincial Pine, Paintable Deep Beaded, Oakdale, Fireside Cherry, Plain White Perforated Utility Panel and Oakdale Perforated Utility Panel.

I will try to describe these wood grain wall panels to the best of my ability. The Beaded Birch has a medium brown stain with double-cut grooves cut down the length of the panel approximately 2 inches apart. The Frosted Maple is a grayish off-white stain. This panel also has double-cut grooves cut down the length of the panel approximately 2 inches apart.

The Beaded White is a white stain with double-cut grooves cut down the length of the panel approximately 2 inches apart. The Honey Birch is a medium-dark brown stain with single grooves running down the length of the panel alternating between 4 and 6 inches apart.

The Lite Birch is a lighter brown stain with single grooves running down the length of the panel alternating between 4 and 6 inches apart. The Westminster White is, of course, white stain. Westminster White panel is a smooth panel and has no grooves.

Next we have Provincial Pine. Provincial Pine is a light brown stain which has double-cut grooves cut down the length of the panel approximately 4 inches apart. Paintable Deep Beaded comes with a white stain. It has the look of typical bead board. This panel has double-cut grooves cut down the length of the panel approximately 2 inches apart.

Next we have Oakdale. Oakdale is a medium dark brown stain panel with double-cut grooves cut down the length of the panel approximately 4 inches apart. So now we are at Fireside Cherry. Fireside Cherry is a deep dark brown stain. This panel has a single black groove going down the length of the panel alternating between 4 and 6 inches apart.

The next 2 wood grain wall panels are perforated. These panels are called Utility Wall Panels. The holes on these panels serve a purpose. What you do is install these panels in your workshop or garage over the open studs of the wall, so there is an open space behind the perforated panel. There are all types of hooks and holders you can buy at your local hardware store that slide into these perforations. After you apply the hooks that you choose, you will be able to hang your tools, brooms, winter shovels, gardening tools and just about anything within a reasonable size and weight. There are a wide variety of shelves and small storage units that are made to hang on perforated utility panels.

The first of these 2 perforated panels is the Plain White Perforated Utility Panel. That pretty much says it all. This is a white stained 4’ x 8’ perforated wall panel. The second perforated utility panel is called the Oakdale Perforated wall panel. This 4’ x 8’ perforated utility wall panel is finished in a medium-dark oak finish. If you are looking for a beautiful wood finished utility panel to organize your tools and supplies, then this panel is for you.

So now you know what is available to you in regards to wood grain wall paneling. Wood grain wall paneling is only a small part of what is available in wall paneling in general. I will follow up in the near future with more information on other types of wall paneling. I hope this has helped you to understand what is available to you when it comes to wall paneling of the wood grain type.
