Bronze Clock

Wall faucet opening will not align to point down.?

The wall has a bronze fitting cemented into the wall. When I screw the single faucet with Teflon tape into this fitting, it tightens (max) with the faucet pointing to the 3 o'clock position, rather than the 6 o'clock position. If I turn back to point down it leak, and if I tighten more it will break the fitting. How do I correct this?

Use a little less teflon tape. Trial and error really to get it to be at 6 o'clock.
Or use more tape so that it will not leak.
Use an extension.
